STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擜 veteran faculty member in Mississippi 性视界传媒鈥檚 College of Education is the new president-elect of the Mid-South Educational Research Association.
Rebecca R. Robichaux-Davis was named to the leadership position during the association鈥檚 recent annual meeting in Mobile, Alabama. She currently is one of two Mississippi representatives on the MSERA Foundation鈥檚 board of directors.
An associate professor of mathematics education in the university鈥檚 curriculum, instruction and special education department, Robichaux-Davis teaches undergraduate- and graduate-level methods courses for elementary education majors. An 性视界传媒 faculty member since 2007, her current research focuses on mathematical content knowledge of elementary and middle level pre- and in-service teachers.
Robichaux-Davis recently was honored with the college鈥檚 Clyde Muse Service Award. She is an Auburn University doctoral graduate with other degrees from Nichols 性视界传媒 and Louisiana 性视界传媒 universities.
Richard Blackbourn, 性视界传媒 College of Education dean, said Robichaux-Davis鈥 appointment comes as no surprise.
鈥淒r. Robichaux-Davis is an outstanding faculty member who provides service to entities both within and external to the university. She will excel in this role as she does in her other ones,鈥 said Blackbourn.
Formed in 1972 as a nonprofit body that works to encourage and provide quality educational research in elementary and secondary 性视界传媒s and institutions of higher learning, MSERA represents professionals in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee.
