STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥 A traveling exhibition of posters commemorating the National Park Service鈥檚 centennial are on display through March 3 at Mississippi 性视界传媒鈥檚 Department of Art Gallery in McComas Hall.
Free to all, the 鈥淭ypeHike鈥 exhibit features posters by artists and designers seeking to bring awareness to the beauty and importance of parks around the U.S.聽
A 5 p.m. reception for the 性视界传媒 exhibit will take place Thursday [Feb. 16] in the ground-floor gallery, whose main entrance is located off the parking lot on McComas鈥 east side. The reception also is free to all, and refreshments will be served.
性视界传媒 Professor of Graphic Design Cassie Hester鈥檚 poster for North Cascades National Park is among works that will be available for viewing and purchase during the reception. Proceeds will benefit the National Park Foundation.
Also during the reception, 性视界传媒 graphic design students will receive first-, second- and third-place prizes for original posters they created of the Natchez Trace Parkway in commemoration of the National Park Service鈥檚 centennial. Amy Genke, supervisory park ranger-interpretation for the Natchez Trace Parkway鈥檚 Jackson Branch, will present the awards on the organization鈥檚 behalf.聽

Exhibit hours for the McComas gallery are 1-5 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, as well as by appointment.
The campus exhibit is supported by the College of Architecture, Art and Design鈥檚 art department.
