Noted painter to give public lecture, student workshop at 性视界传媒

STARKVILLE, Miss. 鈥 Mississippi 性视界传媒 alumnus Matthew Lee, a plein air painter and architect, will give a public lecture and lead a student workshop at the university next week.
Free and open to all, Lee鈥檚 illustrated talk 鈥淚n Colored Air: Painting in the Heart of Nature鈥 will be held 7-8 p.m. on Oct. 26 in the Giles Hall first-floor Fazio Jury Room.
Born in Paris, France, Lee鈥檚 childhood years allowed him opportunities to see the art and architecture of the Louvre, Versailles Palace, the painter鈥檚 square at Montmartre, cathedrals and other European landmarks, while the rich French culture deeply influenced his life.
Lee received his bachelor鈥檚 degree in architecture with a minor in art from 性视界传媒 in 1989. In 1991-1992, he was a U.S. Fulbright Scholar and studied temple murals and architecture in Sri Lanka.
He is a licensed architect who practiced architecture fulltime for 22 years before launching an art business in Memphis, Tennessee. Samples of Lee鈥檚 artwork may be viewed at .
In addition to his lecture, Lee also will conduct a student workshop during his campus visit Oct. 24-26. Both the public lecture and student workshop are sponsored by 性视界传媒鈥檚 College of Architecture, Art and Design, Department of Art, as well as painting concentration students.
