STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擲tudents and professionals seeking to expand their leadership and networking skills can now register for Mississippi 性视界传媒 University鈥檚 2018 Collegiate Leadership Conference.

Admission for the April 14 event is free for 性视界传媒 students and faculty and $40 for non-性视界传媒 students and faculty. Registration may be completed online at .

Sponsored by 性视界传媒鈥檚 Office of Student Leadership and Community Engagement, Holmes Cultural Diversity Center, Center for Student Activities, Student Association and Department of Housing and Residence Life, the conference on the Starkville campus will begin with a high-energy keynote by New York-based author, professional speaker, personal coach and entrepreneur James T. Robilotta.

Originally from Sayville, New York, Robilotta earned his bachelor鈥檚 in marine biology in 2005 from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington. In 2007, he earned his Masters of Counselor Education: Student Affairs Practice in Higher Education at Clemson University. Before pursuing his speaking and coaching career on a full-time basis, he worked on college campuses for 13 years, developing student leaders and higher education professionals.

In 2015, Robilotta published his first book 鈥淟eading Imperfectly: The Value of Being Authentic for Leaders, Professionals, and Human Beings.鈥 As a professional speaker, he gives thought-provoking talks about authentic leadership and promoting memorability. Ranging from CEOs to college students, his clients undergo purposeful life-changing and self-affirming transformations.

Robilotta also performs around the country with his freestyle rapping improv comedy team, North Coast.

His presentation at the conference will be followed by breakout sessions and engaging activities on a variety of topics including communication, diversity and inclusion, social responsibility, and professional development and leadership skills.

The conference will conclude with a dinner hosted by Abdul M. Omari, CEO and founder of AMO Enterprise, which helps people better connect in individual and team settings through leadership seminars, keynotes and mentoring.

A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Omari holds a bachelor鈥檚 in global studies, master鈥檚 in public policy and doctorate in comparative and international development education from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

Omari鈥檚 research focuses on the perceptions of mentoring and the role of Cultural Intelligence within mentoring relationships. For several years, he has taught leadership courses for undergraduate students. In 2016, he was featured in Minnesota Business Magazine鈥檚 鈥淵oung Entrepreneurs.鈥

Omari explores his passion for civic and public service as an elected member of the Board of Regents at the University of Minnesota and serves on the Board of Directors for the YMCA Greater Twin Cities, AchieveMpls, Travel/Impact/Growth,聽and Civic Eagle.
