Research on healthy aging earns 性视界传媒鈥檚 Adams-Price GSA Fellow status

STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擜 Mississippi 性视界传媒 University psychology faculty member is adding a new title from the Gerontological Society of America to her accolades.
Professor Carolyn Adams-Price, whose research focuses on gerontology鈥攖he process of aging鈥攈as been awarded Fellow status, the highest class of membership within the GSA, and will be recognized for her notable contributions in studying creativity in aging at the annual GSA meeting this fall in Tampa, Florida.
Awardees are granted the 鈥淔GSA鈥 designation鈥擣ellow of the Gerontological Society of America鈥攁nd encouraged to use it when listing their academic credentials.
Founded in 1945, the GSA is the oldest and largest interdisciplinary organization devoted to research, education and practice in the field of aging.
鈥淚 have been a gerontologist for more than 35 years, and I have always considered the Gerontological Society to be my intellectual home,鈥 Adams-Price said. 鈥淕SA has given me the chance to get to know and work with researchers from a variety of disciplines that all have something to say about living well in later life. I am particularly excited to be recognized for my research on creativity and its benefits for older adults, and I am grateful to be a continuing member of the GSA Board for Humanities, Arts and Culture.鈥
An 性视界传媒 faculty member since 1990, Adams-Price said, 鈥淏eing named a Fellow is important because it suggests that my theoretical and practical contributions to the positive aspects of aging will continue to make an impact on peoples鈥 lives.鈥
Adams-Price received her Ph.D. from West Virginia University, her master鈥檚 degree from Brandeis University in Massachusetts and her bachelor鈥檚 degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
