STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi ÐÔÊӽ紫ý will celebrate the university’s impactful research during an extended Research Week April 2-12.
With a theme of includes several events to highlight the innovations that are driving solutions to current issues and shaping the future of scientific fields. The festivities include showcases, panels, a solar eclipse viewing event, research center tours and more, all culminating with the spring 2024 Undergraduate Research Symposium April 11-12. Graduate student research will be the focus of a three-day Research Week gallery as images from the ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Graduate School’s Images of Research Competition will be displayed in the Old Main Academic Center Atrium April 3-5. On April 4, ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Libraries will host a roundtable discussion on plagiarism and research ethics with panelists from a wide range of disciplines on campus.
Campus-wide festivities continue on April 8 with ÐÔÊӽ紫ý’s solar eclipse viewing taking place on the Drill Field from 12:30–3 p.m. On April 9, the Research Showcase will return to the YMCA Plaza from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The showcase will include more than a dozen interactive displays representing campus colleges and research centers, including several robots, vehicles and autonomous systems, as well as performances from faculty in the ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Department of Music.
On April 10, the ÐÔÊӽ紫ý community and the general public are invited to tour three centers housed in the Office of Research and Economic Development’s administrative building at 301 Research Blvd. From 12:30–2 p.m., the Institute for Imaging and Analytical Technologies, Athlete Engineering Institute and Center for Cyber Education will be open for tours.
